Sermon Series Ideas

 —  July 1, 2014 — 1 Comment

It is time for me to start planning our 2014-2015 calendar; events, sermon series ideas, retreats, etc. I have posted a list of my favorite resources that help in the area of sermon series ideas and graphic design elements but these three pages never made the list. Not because they are not great, but because I just discovered 2 of them. I have been visiting churchstagedesignideas.com for a few years and recently found seriesideas.com and worshipsetideas.com.

Click on and check out these three sites, they are easy to navigate and spark great ideas.  The URLs are what they say they are…

Other than from your regular Bible reading, where are you growing your series ideas?

I have been serving in youth ministry for nearly 20 years, am currently the Director of Student Ministries at Valley Church in Des Moines, IA, and am on a first name basis with several Best Buy and Apple employees. My wife Keri and I have been married over ten years and have three great boys. My four favorite things are Jesus, my wife, Chicago Style Pizza, and fighting off our boys with sweet ninja moves.

One response to Sermon Series Ideas

  1. For the first time this past May I sat down with three other youth workers from one of my networks and we worked out a fall series schedule together, bouncing ideas off of each other and committing to helping each other write the series. I’m excited about where this is taking us for several reasons.

    1) I love hanging with my networking buddies.
    2) I’m only having to write one lesson a month, opening up more relationship time with my students.
    3) On May 6th, my fall teaching calendar was put together. What a relief.

Speaking of which, I have a deadline to make for our first series, so back to work!
