Managing Volunteers with Highrise

 —  January 28, 2010 — 2 Comments

Starting Tuesday, HSM is going to use Highrise. Highrise is an inexpensive web-based people management tool that we’re applying to managing our youth ministry volunteers (it could easily scale to handle an entire youth ministry even). It helps us keep track of our great team of caring adults that are pouring into students. I’ll be sure to give you an update a few months into it to see if it all pans out. If you’re interested in seeing how it works, hit up the link or sign up for the 30-day trial. Super pleased with the experimenting we’ve been doing with it the past 2 weeks.

Anyone else using it?

  1. I’m a big Highrise fan! I’ve written about using it in a youth ministry context at the YS blog and the 37Signals blog, and I think it’s a great way to ensure that you’re maintaining contact with people who are important to you. I hope it works well for you guys!

  2. I’ve been using Highrise to keep up with the students in our youth ministry for a while. We have first timers fill out a contact card, then I enter it in the next day. I tag what school they go to and what grade they are in (so I can then have lists of all that). I even put in their birthdate and set it up to remind me a week before to send them a card. Even if they have just come once, it’s cool that they still get a birthday card from us.
