I want to start a new series that look’s at the lives of women from the Bible, history or current events and ask the question what can girls learn from her? Today, we’ll start with Eve.
What can a girl learn from Eve:
Don’t talk to serpents!
I think sometimes Eve gets a bad rap. I mean, I get that she blew it when she disobeyed the one rule God had set up for her and Adam. But in all fairness to Eve, she had a conversation with a serpent, which seems pretty creepy and overwhelming to me. But her failure didn’t define her. She didn’t stop there or give up. She became the mother of all (wo)mankind. She is part of every person’s story; that is her legacy. Eve shows us that we are not our failures-that our failures don’t define who we become, no matter how big or how small the mistake. (From 99 Things Every Girl Should Know)
We all make mistakes. We all choose disobedience. But it doesn’t have to be the end for us. We can be forgiven and get a second chance to do better and to write a better story.
Every girl can learn from Eve. Her story doesn’t have to be negative. Our story doesn’t have to be negative. God redeemed Eve’s story. God always can redeem our stories.
What else can girls learn from Eve?
